The Professor

Hi.  I’m Lina Medaglia-Miller.  I teach full-time at George Brown College in Toronto.  My academic background is in Social Work, Applied/Community Psychology and Cultural Sociology.
The focus of my life’s work has been primarily in peace and justice work. I have worked with thousands of survivors of partner and child abuse during two decades of crisis intervention work. This is the most valuable experience that I bring to my teaching, in and outside of the classroom.

I have a Ph.D. from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE/UT) in Community and Counselling Psychology.

I have written a novel, “The Demons of Aquilonia,” about the experience of child and adult immigrants having to pass societal tests in order to conform to cultural constraints. Visit to learn more about my work.
