The Professor

Hi.  I’m Lina Medaglia-Miller.  I teach full-time at George Brown College in Toronto.  My academic background is in Social Work, Applied/Community Psychology and Cultural Sociology.

The focus of my life’s work has been primarily in peace and justice work. I have worked with thousands of survivors of partner and child abuse during two decades of crisis intervention work. This is the most valuable experience that I bring to my teaching, in and outside of the classroom.

I have a Ph.D. from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE/UT) in Community and Counselling Psychology.

I have written a novel, “The Demons of Aquilonia,” about the experience of child and adult immigrants having to pass societal tests in order to conform to cultural constraints. Visit http://linamedaglia.com/ to learn more about my work.
